John Cain is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Elkhorn, NE who attends Elkhorn South. Recorded a 6.60 second sixty yard dash time, showcasing excellent speed. Large and athletic frame with obvious strength present. Primary outfielder with an aggressive approach, fields it off to the side and moves through the ball well. Utilizes a long and loose arm action that comes through quick, displayed advanced arm strength by recording throws at 90 mph with accuracy to the bag. Right-handed hitter with a wide base and simple load, utilizes a small hover leg lift trigger and a high hand and back elbow set. Longer swing path, gets the foot down on time and stays behind the ball nicely. Can get stiff at times and will continue to improve his power potential as he loosens up and engages with the lower half more actively. Collected multiple hits in game action. High level uncommitted player with loud tools. Good student. Named to the 2022 Midwest Top Prospect Games Top Prospect List.
