James Gumbs is a 2023 SS/2B with a 5-10 130 lb. frame from Colchester, CT who attends Bacon Academy. Slender young build with lots of room to get stronger. 6.92 runner in the sixty. Has good quickness on defense with active feet rounding the ball, some quickness in his hands as well and has a quick release on his throws, lowers his slot well and can make plays on the move, projects well defensively as he gets stronger and more physically mature. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a big stride into contact, short inside swing path that emphasizes contact to all fields, handles the barrel well. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
