Ronin Contreras is a 2024 1B/RHP with a 6-2 220 lb. frame from Tracy, CA who attends Tracy. Features a physical build with plenty of strength present. Ran a 7.33 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman. Can get around ground balls well when in-sync. Range profiles well for a corner spot. Still developing consistent glove actions. Will get it down late at times. Arm strength plays across, reaching 83 mph during workouts. Right-handed hitter. Utilizes a wide base stance into a heel raise timing mechanism. Swings on a linear path with strength at contact. Swings with the intent to do damage. Has quality pullside power present that will show up often in-game. Right-handed pitcher. Utilizes a semi-windup delivery into drop and drive mechanics down the mound. Gets into the lower half well. Throws from a 3/4 slot with a shorter arm action. Fastball sat 78-81 mph with slight armside run. Pairs it with a curveball at 63-65 mph showing slurve action. Can create depth when spun well. Both offerings showed the ability to generate quick outs. Very good student. Named to the Northern California Prospect Showcase Top Prospects List.
