2022 Memphis Prospect Showcase
Sam Barnes is a 2025 RHP/2B/3B with a 5-8 130 lb. frame from Bartlett, TN who attends Bartlett. Recorded a 7.72 sixty yard dash at the event. Smaller, compact frame with plenty of physical development left in the build. Primary right-handed pitcher. Hybrid delivery out of the windup with moderate leg kick and three-quarters arm slot. Hinges well into the back hip with slight drop and drive tendencies. Medium arm action with a slight show in the back. Strike thrower. Secondary infielder. Plays low to the ground with athletic actions. Shows ability to play laterally on the infield and make routine outs. Solid footwork with playable hands. Right-handed hitter. Hits from a wide base with slight toe tap mechanics. Lofted bat path with developing bat speed. Mostly opposite field contact during BP. Will continue to progress as physical strength is added to the frame. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
