Andrew Velasquez is a 2024 3B/RHP, 2B, SS, OF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Pearland, TX who attends Pasadena Memorial. Andrew has some physicality to him and yet moves smooth around the infield. With his footwork and agility he covered ground well, got to position early to work behind and through the baseball. The arm strength is average for now, but the timing and accuracy are very good. While pitching, Andrew has a fastball with some sinking action and a curveball with a big 11/5 shape and break from high three-quarter slot. Velasquez has a compact swing with some bat speed but works inside the baseball more times than not and works the middle of the field to opposite field. Level plane through the baseball, Andrew doesn't get much power or drive to big part of field, but he can consistently make contact. Andrew is also a very good student in the classroom.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
