Thomas Collins is a 2026 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-7 155 lb. frame from Upper Saddle River, NJ who attends Don Bosco Preparatory. Recorded a 7.58 second sixty-yard dash time. Compact, medium frame with present lower half strength and plenty of room to continue physically maturing. Primary left-handed pitcher, full windup delivery with slightly coiled leg lift into balance and short stride out to foot strike. Displays shorter arm stroke on the backside of the arm swing and shows plenty of present arm speed. Fastball worked in the 77-80 mph range for the duration of his outing, while flashing some natural arm-side run and carry through the strike zone. Topped out at 81 mph in this look from an extended three-quarters arm slot. Mixed in two promising breaking balls for strikes, while showing the ability to manipulate each pitches speed and shape to generate swings-and-misses. Slurve is further along than cutter at the moment and exhibits bat missing qualities with horizontal and vertical tilt to it. Cutter has short horizontal action to it and misses the barrel often. Will continue to improve as he gains more velocity and matures. Secondary first baseman with developing defensive skill set and some agility around the bag. Fields cleanly out in front and produced above average arm strength across the diamond up to 80 mph. Took part in the outfield portion of the defensive workout as well; similar developing footwork throughout the fielding process, maintains some momentum through release and exhibited above average arm strength up to 82 mph. Will continue to improve defensively with refinement of his footwork and continued development of his throwing accuracy. Left-handed hitter that hits from an upright, slightly open stance with high hand set, high back elbow and small forward stride into contact. Incorporates rotational lower half mechanics with some compact bat speed and natural lift to his swing. Displays some feel for the barrel and the ability to get the bat head out in front. Mostly pullside contact with some power potential as he continues to add strength. High upside on both sides of the ball with legitimate pitchability for someone his age. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments, refine of his pitch arsenal and additional physical maturity. Named to the 2022 13/14U Mid-Atlantic Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
