Zach Worthington is a 2024 C/3B with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Oradell, NJ who attends St. Joseph Regional. Recorded a 6.03 second forty-yard dash time. Medium, compact frame with plenty of time and room to physically mature. Primary catcher with developing catch-and-throw skill set, showing fundamentally sound mechanics and projection. Receives from a low, slightly side-saddled stance with soft hands, quick mid-line transfers and short arm action. Recorded online, accurate throws to the bag, flashing developing arm strength up to 65 mph. Young actions behind the plate that will continue to improve as he matures and adds strength. Right-handed hitter that hits from a narrow, slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and toe-tap trigger. Displayed developing bat-to-ball skills with compact, slightly lofted stroke and some quickness to his hands. Pull-side approach with minimal usage of his lower half, will expand overall hit tool and power potential with proper adjustments to his lower half mechanics. Young prospect with solid fundamentals, will continue to improve with proper refinements to skill set and physical maturity. Excellent Student.
