John LaFayette is a 2024 OF/RHP with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Roswell, GA who attends Alpharetta. Tall and lean young build with some present strength and room for plenty more. Very good runner, 6.76 in the sixty. Showed good arm strength in the outfield with some carry, young fundamental footwork but has the athleticism and speed to become a high level defensive outfielder with time and repetitions. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with good lower half shift into contact, line drive swing plane with a gap to gap approach, stays pretty short to the ball and gets some extension through contact, showed an accurate barrel, projects well as a hitter. Also pitched, works from the stretch with a high leg raise delivery and a tall and fall delivery to the plate. Fastball worked in the upper 70's with some nice sink at the plate and generated lots of ground ball contact. Slider and change up were solid second pitches with good arm speed through release. Nice all around athlete with plenty of projectable tools. Excellent student. Named to the 14U Summer Main Event Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
