Matthew Rappa is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Garden City, NY who attends Chaminade. Medium, well-proportioned frame with lean muscle throughout and room to physically mature. Primary outfielder with deliberate footwork into the fielding process, a clean gather off his front foot and some momentum into release. Stays low through the baseball and transitions fairly well, recorded arm strength up to 78 mph during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a balanced, even base with an exaggerated high hand set, high back elbow and small hanging leg lift trigger. Middle-of-the field approach with line drive swing path and some strength at impact, stays short and direct to the baseball and exhibits gap-to-gap power potential. Solid overall skill set with upside on both sides of the baseball, will continue to improve with proper defensive adjustments, additional arm strength and minor refinements to his swing. Excellent Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
