Matthew Stewart is a 2023 C/3B, SS, MIF with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Phoenix, AZ who attends Boulder Creek. Medium frame. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.36 seconds. Primary catcher, showed his athleticism and moves well behind the dish. Has a high set up, quick feet, good anticipation, and a quick transfer with strong accurate throws. Had a 1.93 pop time down to second base. Also can handle INF positions defensively, had decent footwork and threw 75 MPH across the INF. At the plate, has a short compact swing with good bat speed. Hits from and open stance with high hands with a simple load back and slight movement. Has a slight upper cut hand path that allows his to use the whole field and square balls up. Excellent student. Named to the Sunshine West Showcase Top Prospect List.
