Rainn Purath is a 2025 RHP/1B, 3B, OF with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Ladera Ranch, CA who attends JSerra Catholic. He has a tall frame for his age with a slender build and plenty of room to add strength as he matures. Ran the sixty yard dash in 7.46 seconds. Primary right-handed pitcher that has a knee to belt leg kick that he uses to create some torque in his motion. He has a short stride that allows him to throw the ball out in front of his body. He throws with a short arm action frim an over the top delivery. He does a nice job of working in line with the plate. His fastball is straight and he was able to consistently throw it for strikes. His breaking ball is a looping curveball with 11-5 break that he showed good feel for. Secondary first baseman that sits back on the ball when fielding and works through his throws well. He showed solid movements to both sides of his body and his footwork will continue to improve as he develops. Also worked out at shortstop, showing similar actions that he did at first base and throwing with a medium arm action. Right-handed hitter that starts in a slightly wider base with some bend in his knees. He has high hands and a high back elbow. Uses a simple stride for timing. He has a pull approach and has some stiffness in his upper half. He showed some strength in his swing that will continue to improve with age. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
