Lucas Sideco is a 2025 OF/LHP, 1B with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Las Vegas, NV who attends Faith Lutheran. Medium, square shouldered frame with a lean and projectable build, has room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.71 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, fields the ball out front, takes longer strides moving to it, long arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release, can refine lower half mechanics moving forward. Showed nice athleticism around the bag at first base, moves well on feet and attacks the ball, accurate throws with an extra step through release, arm strength projects. Also pitched, side step moving into a leg lift up to belt with quick tempo, gathers at top, full arm action through the back working to a lower three-quarters release point, clean arm stroke. Fastball topped out at 70 and showed short sinking life to the pitch, comfort working to his arm side. Mixed three pitches, changeup flashes fading life and curveball shows 1-7 shape. Left-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing and can utilizes additional weight shift through lower half moving into contact. Simple swing and shows quickness to hands, occasionally opens front side early, does a nice job of getting the barrel out front. Contact oriented approach, works to the middle part of the field with comfort, short stroke overall. Excellent student.
