Ryan Ortega is a 2025 C/MIF with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Ridgewood, NY who attends St Mary’s. Ortega works from an athletic build with strength proportioned solidly throughout. Exclusively from his primary spot behind the dish, he displayed a quick compact arm action starting from a side saddled set, ultimately posting a 2.01 pop time. Arm strength is evident with sound footwork and overall repeatable mechanics. Offensively, the righty started from a compact even stance with a high hand set and high back elbow with intent to work the middle of the field and get the barrel out in front. Expect contact tool to refine as the stroke becomes more consistent. Ran a 7.25 sixty yard dash.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
