Michael Gawkins is a 2023 1B/RHP, 3B, OF with a 6-4 205 lb. frame from Mason, OH who attends St Xavier. Large frame with strong, physical build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.54 seconds. Hits from wide-based stance with high back elbow, leg lift trigger, big move in lower half, pull-side rotational approach with lengthy path, showed gap power in game. Primary 1B, stiffer bend with average hand actions out front, clocked up to 70 mph on throws. Took left side reps as well and threw 68 mph across. Also pitched, medium-length arm stroke to high 3/4 slot, fastball worked 68-71 mph with some sink, showed slow curveball for strikes, pitched to contact. Excellent student.
