2022 13U/14U Sunshine South Showcase (Tues/Wed)
Mason Fewell is a 2026 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-5 125 lb. frame from Galveston, TX who attends Home School. Fewell worked from a range of spots over his weekend, using a young frame with plenty of projection left and room to fill out. As a primary LHP, he used a compact arm action on the bump and 3/4 slot to record outs with a FB up to 71 mph (1854 rpm). He changed tempos well and kept hitters uncomfortable in the box, working from a simple operation overall with feel for spin on the breaker to generate swing and miss. Fewell also worked from both the OF and 1B, displaying max effort throws at both spots with quickness to the release. Offensively, the lefty started from an open stance with a big stride and load that flashed opposite field contact. He displayed a longer swing path with the power tool becoming more prevalent in the future. Ran a 7.60 sixty yard dash. Good student.
