Joseph Karpowicz is a 2027 SS/RHP, 3B, MIF, OF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Stony Brook, NY who attends Ward Melville Senior. Long, lanky frame with plenty of athleticism and room to add strength. Recorded a 6.99 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary shortstop with a quick first step, plenty of lateral range and overall athleticism throughout the fielding process. Recorded arm strength up to 77 mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked exclusively from the stretch in this look. Athletic, higher leg lift into balance with good lower half movements down the slope. Fastball worked in the upper-70s for the majority of his outing and topped out at 81 mph from a loose three-quarters arm slot. Strike thrower with ability to command both sides of the plate effectively, mixed in tight, late biting slider for strikes as go-to secondary and replicated changeup with tumble to disrupt timing. Huge physical projection remaining, will continue to add more velocity. Continued to show off his athleticism during the outfield portion of the defensive workout and showed really well there. Came and go the baseball with some urgency, while gathering cleanly off his front foot and maintained momentum into release. Produced arm strength up to 82 mph. Right-handed hitter that hits from a wider, slightly open stance with a tight hand set and leg lift trigger. Whole field approach with line drive stroke and plenty of present bat speed. Swing translates into game action. Stays through the middle-of-the field nicely and should continue to expand his overall power potential with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Named to the 2023 13/14U Sunshine New York Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
