Chase Byrd is a 2025 SS/RHP, 2B, OF with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Newport, NC who attends Croatan. Recorded a 7.49-second sixty-yard time. High-waisted, slender, compact build with tons of strength remaining to be added throughout his frame. Primary shortstop, fields out in front with a clean fielding funnel. Flashed some range to his left and right with improvement needs to his footwork. 75 mph across the diamond with promising developing arm strength. Secondary right-handed pitcher, worked from a full wind up that he repeated well, remaining balanced throughout his operation. Able to create some downhill action on his fastball from an over-the-top arm slot. Up to 75 mph with his heater, which will continue to tick up as he matures physically. Worked his fastball on both sides of the plate well, pairing it with a promising breaking ball with tight spin and 11-5 shape. Good feel for arsenal and should progress nicely as he gains more experience on the mound. Right-handed hitter, slightly open, narrow stance with a high-hand setup. Quick leg-lift-trigger to initiate operation. Quick, elevated stroke creating some barrel whip, flashing some impact to the pull side. Middle of the field approach, remaining on time with a busy load. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
