McCallon Stiffel is a 2024 C/3B/OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Duncan, SC who attends James F Byrnes. Medium, compact build with some lean muscle in his lower half, and still has more strength remaining to be added. 8-second runner during the sixty. Primary catcher, high set up, tended to come out of his legs as he comes out of his crouch, taking his momentum down to third base. Clean glove-to-hand exchange with a mid-line transfer. Developing arm strength, up to 65 mph on his throws to second. Recorded a best pop time of 2.38-seconds. Secondary corner infielder, fields out in front with a deep funnel. Quick release with accurate throws across the diamond, up to 68 mph. As he adds more muscle the arm strength should continue to improve. Also took reps in the outfield, fielded off to the side with a deep funnel. Compact arm action with accurate throws to the bases. Up to 70 mph on his throws. Right-handed hitter, sets up with an open, wide stance. Pull side approach, finding some barrels throughout his round showcasing some feel for the barrel. Swing path tended to get elongated at times, could simply approach and shorten stroke. Excellent student.
