Clint Shores is a 2023 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Pike Road, AL who attends St. James. A bigger-bodied kid with a bigger frame and room to keep adding strength. Ran a 7.38 60-yard dash. A primary left-handed pitcher who is a rocker into a leg lift above the belt. Shorter arm action from a high three-quarters arm slot. Keeps a short stride down the mound. Works quickly overall. Tunnels his pitch mix well and changes speeds. His fastball was up to 82 mph, working into 78-82 mph throughout the outing. Also mixed in a slurvy-breaking ball in the mid-60s with some more depth to it. The slider had shorter cutting action to it. Also mixed in a changeup that he killed the spin on. He threw a lot of strikes and was able to establish both sides of the zone. A right-handed hitter with high-set hands and a high back elbow. Uses a smaller leg-lift trigger, barreling it up with some strength behind it. Keeps a direct path to the ball and showed intent to his actions during the whole round. He showed his loose wrists with ability to control the barrel and produce consistent line drives. Produced an 87 mph exit velocity, showing off the strength in the frame. Worked out as a first baseman keeping the throws on target with a smooth transfer. Fielded it well with confident actions, using his strength while he worked through the throws. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
