Whit Vandygriff is a 2027 RHP/1B/3B with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Lutheran South Academy. Medium athletic build. Works out of the stretch on the mound with a simple leg raise delivery, long arm swing in back with good extension out front, 3/4's arm slot, has good tempo to his mechanics. Fastball topped out at 72 mph, mostly straight and thrown for strikes. Change up was a solid second pitch and he sells it well with good arm speed, mixed his pitches well. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread stance , has an aggressive approach and swings hard, swing has some looseness and extension, handles the barrel well despite the effort in his swing and made consistent square barrel contact, pulled the ball in batting practice and worked up the middle in games, has some hitting tools to develop. 8.05 runner in the sixty. Worked out in both the infield and outfield, looked best on the infield dirt and profiles with third base tools and actions, fields the ball cleanly as an infielder and keeps his hands and feet in sync well. Should keep improving in all areas. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
