Connor Chapa is a 2027 C/2B, 3B, SS with a 5-5 110 lb. frame from Phoenix, AZ who attends Undecided. Features a smaller build with room to add more. Ran an 8.93 60-yard dash. Displayed sound actions during infielder workouts. Quick feet allowed for quality range in both directions. Soft hands caught the ball cleanly throughout. Allows for hands to work through tough hops and catch the backhand consistently. Short arm action produced fair carry across the diamond. More arm strength should come as the frame continues to develop. Also worked out behind the plate. Utilizes a high, slight side saddle setup. Showcased a quick transfer with clean, consistent actions. Still refining footwork out of the crouch. Could gain more ground toward the target. Throws were on target often. Switch-hitter. Utilizes an even stance with a square base from the right side. Simple single step load leads to a direct path through the zone. Approach stays through the middle of the field often. Setups up with a slightly open stance from the left side with a lower hand setup. Approach is geared more toward the pullside as a left-handed hitter. Lofted path drives the ball in the air more consistently while showing good feel for the barrel. More power should come as strength is added to the frame. Also threw as righthanded pitcher. Showed good athleticism down the mound. Short, 3/4 arm action hides the ball well. Has the ability to repeat drop and drive mechanics due to low effort needed. The fastball sat 62-65 mph with slight cut actions. The offering was thrown around the zone often. It was paired with an upper-50’s curveball that showed slurve action. Still developing the overall feel for the offering. Has time to further develop the mechanics and arsenal.
