2023 WWBA Summer Workout Showcase (July 12)
Trip Ostergard is a 2027 SS/2B, MIF, OF with a 5-10 153 lb. frame from Charleston, SC who attends James Island Charter. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and some present strength, additional room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.16 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, does a nice job of staying low to the baseball on approach, fields it out front and picks the backhand cleanly; worked on top of throws and can drop slot when needed, smooth actions up the middle as well. Repeats release on throws from the outfield, on top of the ball well, fields it out front, low throws to the intended base with a short and quick arm action. Right-handed hitter, begins with a wide and spread stance, high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Swings with intent, stays direct to the ball and has bat speed through the zone. Bigger stride getting onto front side, occasionally gets mistimed, shows jump off of the barrel when on time, able to create backspin to the middle and pull side parts of the field. Excellent student. Named to the WWBA Summer Workout Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
