Gabe Boyd is a 2025 SS/OF with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Memphis, TN who attends Christian Brothers. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lean build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary shortstop, loose and easy actions fielding the ball, glove plays well out front, longer strides on approach to ball and showed well going glove side, accurate arm with a low effort release, nice strength and carry on throws on to first base, projects well. Right-handed hitter, begins with an even and upright stance in the box and utilizes a simple load moving into contact. Very good present hand speed and does a nice job of remaining direct to the ball, looseness throughout and has a present feel for the barrel. Works the gaps while utilizing a middle of the field approach, mostly linear path and occasionally gets downward with path, nice potential moving forward. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Mississippi State. Named to the Class of 2025 All-American Games.
