Tyler Patrick is a 2024 C/RHP with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Fresno, CA who attends Clovis West. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.95 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, shows balance to actions behind the plate and quickness to footwork, repeats actions, quick transfer and release, nice arm strength and carry while showing accuracy down to second base, nice tools to build upon. Also pitched, begins with a belt high leg lift, fluid and efficient delivery; full arm action through the back side working to a high three-quarters release point. Lands slightly closed with strike foot, low effort release, fastball topped out at 79 mph and worked around the zone, mixed an 11-5 shaped curveball with short depth at 66 mph for strikes. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and lower back elbow at the plate, loads weight onto back side and comes off well shifting into contact. Incorporates physical strength well in swing, strong hands and fast barrel through the zone with whip. Jump jumps off the barrel when squared, generates the bat speed easy and shows carry to pull side, slight uphill to swing plane. Excellent student.
