2023 Preseason HS Prospect Showcase
Payton Burns is a 2023 MIF/C with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Salina, OK who attends Salina. Strong looking build with some physical maturity. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide base with a nice load and shift into contact, has hitting rhythm, hands are quick and strong and turn over the barrel well, consistently on time due to the simplicity of his swing. 7.49 runner in the sixty. Played both infield and catcher at the showcase, primary infielder with clean and confident actions, makes the routine plays well, more of a second base type profile. Interesting projection at catcher with more repetitions, lower half athleticism is evident and repeats his actions well. Uncommitted senior with plenty of tools to play at the college level. Named to the Preseason HS Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
