Chase Kern is a 2025 C/RHP/IF with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Mount Pleasant, SC who attends Wando. Medium build with the beginnings of some strength for his age. 7.48 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, tends to stand up early to throw, developing lower half actions and fundamentals, two-piece arm action, does have some lower half quickness and athleticism to build on. Also played some in the infield, has quick hands fielding the ball and a long arm action with third base actions. Switch hitter at the plate, hits from a straight stance from both sides with an uphill swing plane, showed better barrel control and timing from the left side. Took a turn on the mound, has a fast paced delivery with a compact arm action and mid 3/4's arm slot, cross body thrower. Fastball worked in the low 70's with occasional sink in the zone. Very good student.
