Ryan Benavides is a 2026 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Friendswood, TX who attends Clear Brook. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.07 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, plays low in actions on the approach, shows nice lateral range to either side and works behind the ball with nice timing, softness in hands and repeats actions, longer but quick arm action with some present strength on throws across the diamond. Also pitched, up-tempo and loose delivery on the mound where his athleticism plays well; quickness to arm and ran fastball up to 79 mph with nice running life to arm side; mixed a short breaking ball up to 70 mph and landed it in the zone well with spin rates just north of 2600 RPM. Right-handed hitter, works under control in the box with nice present bat speed and does a nice job of getting the barrel out front with extension through the ball. Loose and athletic operation overall, creates torque and shows ability to work to all fields, made adjustment in live action on a breaking ball and went the other way for a knock. Inconsistent with path at times but nice tools on both sides of the ball to follow. Very good student. Named to South Central Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
