Max Himmelstein is a 2008 C/UT with a 6'1'', 190 lb. frame from Moorestown, New Jersey, who attends Moorestown High School. Himmelstein has an extra large frame with good present strength in his body. Defensively he has solid mechanics behind the plate, and receives the ball well. He has the ability to block balls in the dirt to both sides equally as well. Himmelstein has solid arm strength for his age on his throws down to second base. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a slightly closed stance and uses a no stride approach. He stays balanced throughout his swing and he gets good extension. Himmelstein gets good leverage at the point of contact that helps to produce power potential that may make him a middle of the order run producer. He centers the ball well for a power hitter showing good bat speed through the zone. He is an aggressive hitter with quick and athletic actions. He is a good student as well.
