Bryce Besece is a 2027 C/1B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends Tampa Jesuit. Bigger frame with a physical build and strength throughout. Ran a 7.71 60-yard dash. Primary catcher who had a good feel for his lower half actions as he came out of the crouch on his throws. Had a longer arms stroke with footwork that he repeated well throughout his round of throws. Had a good exchanged that he repeated well, too. Throws were at 73 mph and accurate down to second to produce a 2.02 pop time. Very clean and fundamental round behind the dish during workouts. He's a left-handed hitter with a big and physical presence in the batters' box. He showed some twitch to the wrists with a longer path and the ability to elevate well. He was able to use his quicker hands to get to the ball and drive it well during BP. Lifted the ball and was able to produce some launch at times. Took a solid round of swings during BP. Produced an 82 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Added 2 hits in-game as well. Also worked out as an infielder who moved well laterally during his round. He moved fine up the middle with accurate throws across the diamond. Controlled his footwork well and carried some momentum through it with throws across the diamond at 80 mph. Also worked out as a first baseman. Fielded it with two hands up the middle keeping throws on a good flight with good feeds across to third base at 80 mph. Had a good feel for the actions at first to make a good turn and keep accurate throws to second working up the middle. Good round of throws at first as well.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
