Robert Gavlik is a 2022 RHP/C, 1B, 3B with a 6-2 220 lb. frame from McMurray, PA who attends Peters Twp. Large frame with physical, strong build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.87 seconds. Primary righthanded pitcher, full windup with long side step into gather, good balance over back leg and rides it down the slope, high 3/4 slot, fastball worked 80-85 mph with good control of the pitch, showed curveball with 11/5 shape and late, sharp bite; pounded the zone and performed well. Hits from even base with deep hand bar, stiffer stroke with incomplete shit, loses leverage through collapsed front side, strength pull-side when on time. Worked out behind the plate, spread high set, two hand reception, runs out of crouch into reception, clocked up to 77 mph on throws. Excellent student, named to 2021 Pittsburgh Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
