Gustavo Marquez is a 2024 SS/RHP/3B with a 5-6 138 lb. frame from Killeen, TX who attends Shoemaker. Wiry athletic infielder that shows elite lateral actions with advanced glove work. Quick arm action that produced zippy throws with accuracy across the diamond. At the plate, he sets up with even base that works into a clean compact bat path. Stays through it well, finds frequent barrels to all parts of the field. Impact will improve with some added strength. On the mound, works with up tempo delivery featuring a moderate lift. Release comes out of a three-quarters slot and produces decent arm side run to the low 80's heater. Works east and west comfortably, will occasionally change eye level as well. Strike thrower forces bad barrels early in counts. Curveball shows usable depth with varying tilt to it. Feel to land it early in counts. Great student. 6.70 60-yard. Named to the Top Prospect list.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
