Austin Tracy is a 2021 RHP/C, 2B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Mastic Beach, NY who attends William Floyd. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.39 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, simple turn into delivery with a leg lift up past belt and hip coil at top, gets tall on backside; some drop and drive through lower half, shows quickness to arm action in back working to a high three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, shows sinking life to the pitch when down in the zone, can refine directionality with lower half at release. Curveball shows 11-5 shape with sweeping finish when on top up to 68 mph, occasionally gets under the pitch at release. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a high leg lift trigger, upper body dominant swing. Short swing path through the zone, keeps hands inside the ball and works on a linear plane. Showed some strength to pull side with occasional leverage, comfort working to pull side. Excellent student.
