Palmer Boyd is a 2024 RHP/1B, 3B, SS with a 6-1 155 lb. frame from Sioux Falls, SD who attends Harrisburg, SD. Recorded a 5.04 second 40-yard dash time. Long and lean frame with plenty of room to fill. Primary right-handed pitcher, throws exclusively from the stretch with a loose arm action, comes from a lower three-quarters slot. Lands online with good extension and finish to the plate, will fall off towards the first base side at times. Repeats the delivery well enough, will continue to development consistency in his release point and overall command. Flashed a slower curveball with 11-5 shape and a changeup for a three-pitch mix. Has projection in the frame, will continue to improve as he fine tunes his command and off speed pitches. Secondary infielder who worked out at shortstop, works through the ball well and shows present athleticism and fluidity. Can change slots and make plays on the move, has good overall feel for the position. Right-handed hitter with an upright stance and an open base, utilizes a low back elbow set and a hanging leg lift trigger. Has quick hands and stays inside the ball well, gets his lower half involved and showed pop to the pull side when on time and squared. Takes aggressive swings, the path can get long at times, did a nice job of staying to the middle of the field. Good student. Named to the 2023 Eastern Iowa Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
