Andre Hutchins is a 2020 3B/RHP, IF, OF with a 5-7 182 lb. frame from Harper Woods, MI who attends Chandler Park Academy. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to build. Recorded a 7.43 second 60-yard dash. Primary third-baseman, worked out in the infield with strong actions, works behind the ball, clean glove and transfer skills, quick arm with strength moving to both sides, shows ability to adjust to the hop. Also pitched, clean mechanics with a leg lift up past belt, simple delivery with a short arm action through the back working to a three-quarters arm slot. Attacks with the fastball, topped out at 77 mph and generates weak contact off the bat. Feel for a 12-to-6 curveball at 61 mph will continue to develop. Right-handed hitter, starts upright with a narrow base, high hands and high back elbow; utilizes a short leg kick trigger for timing. Incorporates lower half well into swing, creates nice bat speed through the zone. Remains short and direct to the ball, keeps hands inside the ball and shows hard jump off the barrel when squared, especially to his pull side. Great student.
