Michael Janicki Jr. is a 2024 1B/ with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Leesburg, VA who attends Tuscarora. Long, broader frame with a high waist, long levers and plenty of room to physically mature. Recorded a 4.21 second thirty-yard dash time. Primary first baseman with developing defensive skill set. Works downhill through the baseball with proper footwork, a slightly deeper funnel to field and worked uphill into release. Showed some lateral range to either side, the ability to change arm slots when necessary and fairly accurate throws across during drills. Recorded arm strength up to 69 mph during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a bent-knee, even stance with a tight hand set and hanging leg lift trigger. Displays slight drift forward into contact, stays compact into launch and produced consistent contact. Tendency to get slightly downhill with his swing path that can cause some timing issues. Used the middle and pullside of the field mostly throughout, impacting the baseball best through the middle-of-the field. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Good Student.
