Yates Toney is a 2028 C/RHP/1B with a 5-11 162 lb. frame from Kings Mountain, NC who attends Kings Mountain. Tall lean build. Primary catcher, sets up in a square crouch, very quick exchange but can rush the release at times. Short flicks from the ear got to the base accurately. Would benefit from a bit more rhythm and drive of the lower half. Left handed hitter, sets up in wide spread with hands high. Some strength shows at impact, approach works through the middle. Clean level path with some bat speed present. 2.14 pop time. 7.71 60-yard. Oustanding student.
