2006 National Showcase
A.J. Regoli is a 2007 right hand hitting outfielder from Palm Beach Central HS, residing in Lake Worth, FL. He is strong and athletically built with a 6'0" 180 lb. frame that should continue to develop. Regoli has an interesting skill set and was ranked #84 among PG National Top 100 position players. He hits from a square stance and has little trouble getting his swing started. His hands are quite lively hands and he fired them easily with a quick trigger. Regoli has good bat speed and with his flat swing plane, he is a quality spray line drive hitter to all fields. His lower half works well too and when he is able to more consistently get his lower and upper halfs working sequentially, he will really make a leap in terms of the type of results he has with the bat. A good athlete, Regoli is also a good outfielder. He made accurate throws and was executing one hope throws, rarely seen in showcases. He was able to do that and still show his plus raw arm strength when the ball was jumping out of his hand. If his bat develops a bit more, he could profile as a right fielder. Otherwise, he is a solid outfielder, no matter what field he is in. Regoli ran 4.50 home/1st and posted a 6.94 60 yard time. Look for him to attend a top D1 program before getting his chance in pro ball, which is likely if he just continues to develop the skills and tools he already possesses.
