2023 Sunshine Northeast Showcase
Andrew Marquis is a 2024 C/RHP/OF with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Lincroft, NJ who attends Middletown South. Marquis worked from a range of defensive spots, starting as a primary catcher displaying a direct mid-line transfer with ground effectively gained in the footwork. He kept throws low and around the bag, repeating the arm action well to post a 2.07 pop time. From the OF, Marquis worked through the ball well with fluid natural actions and present athleticism ultimately topping out at 82 mph. On the mound, the righty worked from the windup flashing a balanced controlled operation with quiet repeatable movements. He utilized simple drop and drive mechanics, effectively getting down the mound with cutting action to the FB up to 80 mph. The breaker displayed vertical depth up to 1887 rpm. Offensively, he started from a wider even base with a big leg lift trigger creating impact to all parts of the field. He kept the good part of the barrel in the zone successfully with some strength in the hands, posting an exit velo of 82 mph. Ran a 7.47 sixty yard dash. Good student.
