Curt Powell is a 2009 MIF with a 6'0'', 165 lb. frame from Knoxville, TN who attends Farragut HS. Curt is a lean and very athletic middle infielder. He was battling a hand injury, but he still looked good at the national. He ran a 6.56 60 and threw 83 across the inf with an injured throwing hand. He has excellent actions in the infield and his hands work very well. At the plate his swing is under control and he has quick hands. He is short to the ball and hits hard line drives. He has a great approach at the plate with easy bat speed. The bat is very interesting and especially when he is at full strength. Powell needs to be watched closely and is also a very good student.
