Declan Descamps is a 2020 LHP/1B with a 6-3 225 lb. frame from San Luis Obispo, CA who attends Mission College Preparatory Catholic. Large frame with strong, physical build. Primary lefthanded pitcher, side step start into smooth and fluid delivery, extended three quarters slot with angle, fastball worked 75-78 mph, straighter pitch, likes to throw cutter in mid-70's with good slicing action, showed curveball with good depth, also flashed a changeup, good mix of pitches and control. Hits from spread stance, pull-side approach with raw power present, lifts the ball well and shows strength when square, good impact ability pull-side. Worked out at first base, shorter arm stroke, fields deep, shorter steps with balance, clocked up to 73 mph on throws. Good student.
