2021 Puerto Rico Workout Showcase
Joniel Cardona is a 2022 OF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Aguas Buenas, PR who attends Puerto Rico Baseball Academy. Taller and high waisted frame with an appealing athletic look. Ran a 6.83 in the sixty yard dash. A primary outfielder, attacks with confidence and quickness. Fast exchange with very good arm strength. Clean arm with carry and more to come as he matures. A right-handed hitter, starts balanced and slightly open with a direct small stride and simple trigger. Loose hands with minimal effort and has a flat and direct path. Lots of liners with good feel for timing and showed some adjustability. Peppered the middle of the field on every swing. Very good student.
