2023 13U/14U Southeast Prospect Showcase
Shayne Murphy is a 2027 SS/RHP, 2B, 3B, MIF, IF with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Atlanta, GA who attends Westlake. Athletic and projectable looking frame with good movement patterns and coordination for the class. Ran a 7.80 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, very smooth hands, good internal clock, can work laterally well, good actions and overall movements, changed slots at will, advanced defensive actions who performs just as good with the leather in games at both short and third. Secondary right-handed pitcher, full windup, middle of the rubber, small side step into belt high lift, compact arm action, flashed downer shaped breaking ball, athletic and controlled around the zone, high three-quarters slot. Right-handed hitter, quicker hands, solid liners to the middle of the field, lifted it some in the round, athletic process, loose, good connection, solid stuff here and has made strides since last look. Very projectable infielder who can stick on the right side with current actions, making more and more strides with the swing as well. Named to the 2023 13U/14U Southeast Prospect Top Prospect List.
