Jaylen Payne is a 2025 OF/2B, SS, MIF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Chandler, AZ who attends Hamilton High School. Features a wiry, high-waisted frame with room to fill out. Has plenty of athleticism within. Ran a 7.01 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder. Charges the ball hard with the ability to catch it cleanly. Maintains rhythm and fluidity throughout the fielding process. Produces fairly good carry on long arm action throws. Low arm slot will generate some armside run on occasion. Threw 82 mph during workouts. Athleticism translates well in the box. Features balanced, upright stance with hands at the shoulder. Leg kick timing mechanism gets down on time regularly. Displayed quality bat speed on a linear bat path. Has good bat to ball ability with feel for the barrel. Advanced approach stays through the middle of the field well. Projectable hitter with quality hitter traits present. Good student. Named to the 2022 National Underclass West Showcase Top Prospect List.
