KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Afternoon Session
Brooke Cunningham is a 5'10, class of 2023, RHP/1B, 3B from Colona, IL who attends Alleman HS. Brooke is an upper class veteran who has a sound approach to her game. She has a solid ability at more than one position and can really swing the bat. She ran a 3.64 20-yard dash with a 1.18 5-yard split. A primary RHP, Brooke can spin the ball. Her tall physical presence automatically adds deception to her operation. Her arm swing is clean and she stays linear as she delivers. Her fastball has glove side cut and she works to keep this pitch on the corners and down in the zone. Her change up is a solid pitch and she hides it well behind her frame and her arm speed makes this pitch affective. She does well in keeping this efficient off-speed pitch down in the zone and off the heart of the plate. Her drop is a solid offering and shows big spin and heavy drop at the dish. Well commanded pitch. Screwball is a hard boring pitch that she works well to the arm side edge. Solid action. As Brooke's last two years of HS and travel ball evolve, and she adds strength and gains experience at the very best competition, her game will take another jump. Solid skill level! Big promise in the circle. Brooke also took a turn at 1B. Her feet work well here and she positions confidently and consistently well. She has softer hands and a sure glove. She make s a quick transition to an arm that produces 51-mph throws that are routinely accurate. Where Brooke truly projects to the next level is at the plate. This powerful RHH is a natural slugger. Although she may never be asked to bunt for the remainder of her career, she can handle the short game. Brooke is a pure hitter. She has a great approach and a sound understanding of her abilities. She shows obvious strength through her core and she incorporates that into each swing. She has a pure and easy operation. She has a quick, short, and direct path and with a slugger's lift at contact. She doesn't miss her barrel and drives the ball with authority to all parts of the park. She can leave the yard...anywhere at anytime. Accomplished. Definite DI prospect at the plate! With two years left in her HS and travel ball careers, Brooke has room to improve her already elite game. With continued attention to detail, a firm work ethic, and exposure to the best competition in the sport, Brooke has chance to play at the highest levels. She has the talent, and through her positive body language, one can tell that softball is very important to her. High ceiling! Big, bright future for the very talented player!

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
