Jack Purdy is a 2022 LHP/OF with a 6-4 195 lb. frame from Raymond, IA who attends Don Bosco. Tall and slender athletic build, lots of physical projection remaining. Side step/leg raise delivery with a long arm action in back, low 3/4's arm slot, tends to slow his arm and body just before release. Steady upper 60's fastball with good running and sinking action, around the plate with his fastball and throws to contact. Primary fastball, mixed in an occasional curveball with sweeping break and a low 60's change up. 7.64 runner in the sixty, showed better raw arm strength from the outfield and made accurate throws. Left handed hitter, hits from an upright and even stance with a toe tap load, long and loose line drive swing with a mid field to pull side approach. Will keep improving on the mound as he gets stronger and improves his arm speed at release. Good student.
