2023 Northeast Top Prospect Games @ Rutgers (Wed-Thur)
Joseph Perillo is a 2025 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Porter. Medium, durable frame with present lower half strength. Recorded a 7.82 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary left-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with deliberate pace, a belt high leg lift and medium stride length out to foot strike. Clean, easy arm stroke with some present hand speed and quickness to it. Fastball worked in the low-to-mid 80s for the duration of his outing and topped out at 85 mph from an extended three-quarters arm slot. Strike thrower with ability to use both sides of the plate effectively with his fastball, mixed in traditional 1-7 shaped breaking ball with gradual depth to it. Will continue to add more velocity and refine overall repertoire. Secondary first base man with deliberate actions throughout the fielding process. Funnels cleanly out in-front, delivered accurate throws up to 88 mph during drills and displayed fairly quick turns. Took part in the outfield portion of the defensive workout as well, where he showed arm strength up to 90 mph and a fundamentally sound fielding process. Stayed behind the baseball, carried momentum into release and delivered fairly accurate throws. Left-handed hitter that hits from an upright, slightly open stance with a high hand set, low back elbow and forward stride into contact. Incorporates circular hand loading mechanism and rotational lower half mechanics to get swing going. Whole field contact with flatter swing path and developing feel for the barrel. Flashed occasional pullside impact and should continue to add strength. Physical potential two-way prospect with upside remaining on both sides of the baseball. Good Student. Named to the 2023 Northeast Top Prospect Games Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
