2021 NorCal Workout Camp (Saturday)  
Marcus Babauta is a 2021 OF/LHP with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Stockton, CA who attends St. Mary's. Tall and projectable frame with long limbs that will fill out nicely. Ran a 7.08 in the sixty yard dash. A primary outfielder, gets into a good position during his approach to field it out front and displayed a consistent funnel with on line footwork. A left-handed hitter, starts even and open with a leg lift trigger. Turns tightly and gets good length out front with good hand speed through contact. Looks to pull with intent and showed accuracy with the barrel. A secondary pitcher, good direction to the plate and has a compact arm action and 3/4 release. Some arm side run to the fastball, 1/7 shape and sweeping action to the breaking ball and mixed a fading changeup to round out the three pitch mix. Lots of quality strikes and works the bottom of the zone. Good student.
