2019 Gulf Coast Prospect Showcase
Tyler Gunter is a 2022 RHP/SS, MIF with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Diberville, MS who attends D'Iberville. Flashed a lanky type frame with plenty of room to fill out down the road with some lean looks to his build. Ran a 7.70 second sixty yard dash. Primary Righthanded pitcher who started a bit closed off before coming set and then working into a higher leg kick while slightly hunched over his front side. Utilized a long arm action before delivering from a true three-quarter slot. Showed a fast arm with plenty of room to progress in the future as he gains strength. Worked with a great three pitch mix as he mixed up pitches with a mature mound presence. Liked to run his fastball in on the hands of righthanded hitters and then used a knee buckling slurvy type curveball to get swings and misses. Very projectable on the mound going forward. Secondary Middle Infielder waiting back on the baseball before working through it with a bend at waist type gather. Glove showed to be clean with young footwork. Accurate arm around the base. Righthanded hitter starting in the back of the box with a spread out stance. Slight bat wrap over the head with a longer swing path. Middle of the field type approach looking to hit the ball on a line. Great Student. Named to Gulf Coast Showcase Top Prospect List.
