Andrew Smithson is a 2021 LHP/OF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Andover, MA who attends Andover. Strong athletic build with room to get stronger. Fast paced delivery with a high leg start, gets well balanced over his back side and drives down the mound well, very good extension out front with a high 3/4's release slot and good downhill angle. Fastball worked in the mid-80's, gets nice running sink on his fastball low in the zone. 70 mph curveball is a solid second pitch with tight spin and sharp 12/6 biting action at times, tunnels his curveball very well with his fastball. Developing change up. Commanded the inside half well and broke a number of bats. Nice young southpaw with definite next level tools. Good student. Named to the Fall East Coast Showcase Top Prospect List.
