Matthew Masingill is a 2023 OF/RHP/1B with a 6-4 180 lb. frame from Trussville, AL who attends Hewitt-Trussville. Long and slender young build with lots of physical projection remining. 7.48 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder, works well to the ball in the outfield with good lower half balance and athleticism, showed some young arm strength with a high effort release. Right handed hitter, hits from a narrow stance with a hand drop load, short swing at present with good barrel accuracy, pretty simple overall approach that he repeats well, will develop the strength to open up his swing with more intent and separation to the ball. Also pitched, well balanced high leg lift delivery, good extension out front, front side tends to open early leaving his arm behind. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, mostly straight. Change up was his best secondary pitch with good arm speed, still developing feel for his curveball release due to his early front side. Projectable young athlete who will continue to improve with physical maturity and experience. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
